BlueWisconsin was born in January 2017, on the heels of Donald Trump’s inauguration. While national outrage spawned innumerable outlets offering news and calls to action surrounding Trump’s administration and federal GOP lawmakers, BlueWisconsin formed to instead address the battle of blue vs. red in our own state, aiming to provide the left-leaning residents of Wisconsin with news they can use to build momentum toward Democratic wins in the 2018 election and beyond.
Originally started as a Google Group listserv to foster discussion and the sharing of resources among progressives throughout the state, this blog launched in April to house a curated one-stop source of up-to-date news on political happenings with our governor and his administration, our state Senate and Assembly legislators, and Wisconsin’s U.S. reps and senators in Washington. It is run by a small group of volunteers.
We hope you find it informative and useful. On Wisconsin!
