State’s policy shift means local governments pay more for bridge replacements

The Wisconsin DOT and Gov. Scott Walker are praising a new policy they say will help replace more aging bridges around the state. But county highway officials say they are seeing their costs increase by hundreds of thousands of dollars, with Wisconsin taxpayers footing a bigger share of the bill. > Wisconsin Public Radio
