Frac sand industry comes back to life in western Wisconsin

Like the ghost towns left behind after the California gold rush fizzled, many of the frac sand mines dotting western Wisconsin sat dormant a year ago, after oil prices plummeted. But 2017 has brought an end to the slump, which means employment in Barron and Chippewa counties has gotten a boost. > Wisconsin State Journal
