Budget committee rebuffs Walker attempt to eliminate labor board


Members of the state’s budget-writing committee on Thursday rejected Gov. Walker’s proposal to axe the independent board that handles employment disputes in Wisconsin. Dating back to 1911, the Labor and Industry Review Commission resolves disputes over unemployment insurance, workers compensation and equal rights in the workplace. Gov. Walker proposed transferring the role to his administration. > Wisconsin State Journal
